The Fifa president single-handedly gave the men’s World Cup to Saudi Arabia in 2034. Gianni Infantino also secured Brazil the hosting rights of the 2027 women’s World Cup.

“Brasil,” exclaimed Infantino from the stage at the recent Fifa congress in Bangkok, Thailand, as he revealed the winning bid in the race for the next women’s World Cup. Brazil triumphed over the joint European bid by Belgium, the Netherlands, and Germany (BNG) with a vote of 119 to 78. For the first time in history, the flagship tournament in the women’s game will head to South America.
In the congress hall, few of the delegates, guests, or journalists were surprised. For months, Brazil had been the favourite. The Fifa president seemed even less surprised. Several sources have informed Josimar that Gianni Infantino interfered in the bidding race by lobbying for Brazil in the final days leading up to the vote. Infantino has once again ignored the principles of good governance, violated Fifa Women’s World Cup 2027 Bidding Regulations and challenged Fifa's assertion of a transparent bidding process. “The bidding process that we launched in March 2023 was the most thorough in the history of the Fifa Women’s World Cup,” said Sarai Bareman, Sun Wen and Muhannad Hamad of the bid evaluation task force.
This is not the first time Gianni Infantino has steered a major decision towards his favoured outcome. In 2017, as newly elected president, Infantino was subject to an investigation by Fifa’s ethics committee for several violations,
